Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: July 22, 2026
We want families to have clear information about what to expect when interacting with Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center. Please review the Terms & Conditions below for important details about our website, services, communications, and policies.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center, P.C. (“ETLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website located at www.enrichmenttherapies.com and your engagement of our speech-language pathology, tutoring, and related services at our Johnston and North Liberty, Iowa locations, or via telehealth. By using our website or requesting or scheduling services with us, you agree to these Terms.
1. Use of Our Website
Our website is provided for informational purposes to help families learn about our services and schedule consultations. Content on our website, including blog articles and downloadable resources, is for general educational purposes only and does not constitute medical or clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with a qualified provider regarding your child’s specific needs.
2. Scheduling and Consultations
Requests submitted through our website (such as “Schedule a Consultation”) are requests only and do not guarantee an appointment time until confirmed by our staff.
3. Client Policies
Clients receiving services at ETLC agree to the following policies, also provided in our Policy Agreement at intake:
– Session Promptness: Please arrive at the office, or log in on Zoom, 5 minutes before your session.
– Payment: Card information will be saved to your account for automatic payments. Sessions may not be held if payment is not received. Clients using insurance are responsible for costs not covered by their plan.
– Parent Participation: Parents must be available 5 minutes before the end of session for a brief discussion with the specialist.
– Attendance: Regular attendance is required to maintain your child’s weekly appointment time; inconsistent attendance may result in forfeiture of that time slot.
– Cancellation: Cancellations require 24-hour notice (phone, text, or email). Late cancellations may be charged: $40 for a 30-minute session, $60 for a 45-minute session, or $80 for a 60-minute session.
– Substitute Specialist: If your regular specialist is unavailable, another specialist familiar with your child’s plan of care may provide the session.
– Illness Policy: Please notify us if your child is unwell. Children should not attend sessions with a fever of 100.0°F or higher in the past 24 hours; vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours; an undiagnosed or draining rash lasting over 24 hours; eye discharge or pink eye (until medically cleared or 24 hours of antibiotic treatment); fatigue or shortness of breath limiting regular activity; open, oozing sores unless covered and treated for 24 hours; or active head lice until treated effectively.
– Behavior: For the safety of your child and our team, sessions may be paused if behavior disrupts learning or safety until an appropriate plan is established. ETLC reserves the right to suspend, discontinue, or modify services if safety cannot be maintained.
– Re-evaluations: Your specialist may recommend periodic re-assessments to evaluate progress.
4. Telehealth Services
ETLC may offer telehealth (virtual) sessions via Zoom, a HIPAA-compliant platform used under a signed Business Associate Agreement, when in-person sessions are not possible or appropriate, with your consent. Telehealth carries inherent risks, including potential technology disruptions and the possibility of unauthorized access to information due to security breaches, third-party app permissions, or other cyber threats. Clients are responsible for ensuring they participate from a private location whenever possible.
If technical issues occur after a session has substantially begun, ETLC may bill for services rendered consistent with applicable payer policies and clinical judgment. When appropriate, reasonable efforts will be made to reconnect or reschedule. We also reserve the right to transition clients to in-person sessions if we determine telehealth does not meet the required standard of care. See our full Telehealth Services Notice for details.
5. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
– Severe weather
– Internet or utility outages
– Pandemics or public health emergencies
– Government actions or restrictions
This is especially relevant to telehealth sessions, which depend on functioning internet and technology services.
6. Insurance and Payment
Our speech-language pathologists are in-network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield and out-of-network with all other insurance plans, including Medicare. Some Medicare plans may provide out-of-network coverage, but this varies by plan, and we encourage you to confirm your specific benefits before starting services. Insurance eligibility and benefits may change at any time. Clients are responsible for understanding their coverage; a quote of benefits is not a guarantee of payment. Billing is processed through Therabill, our billing and practice management platform. We offer discounted private pay rates for services not billed to insurance, along with a Good Faith Estimate upon request. A $25 fee may apply to returned checks. Unresolved balances may result in service discontinuation and referral to a collection agency.
7. Consent and Confidentiality
Client information is handled in accordance with our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Certain consents — such as media release, observation, student clinicians, virtual sessions, and preferred contact methods — are collected separately in our Consent Correspondence form at intake.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is the property of ETLC or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without our permission.
9. Third-Party Links and Social Media
Our website may link to third-party sites, including our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of these third-party sites.
10. Text Messaging (SMS) Communications
Enrichment Therapy & Learning Center (ETLC) offers an SMS messaging program for clients and families who opt in to receive text messages related to their services, including appointment reminders, scheduling updates, account notifications, and other service-related communications.
– Message frequency varies.
– Message and data rates may apply.
– Reply HELP for assistance. You may also contact ETLC using the customer-care information listed in the Contact Us section below.
– Reply STOP to opt out and unsubscribe from SMS messages at any time.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving services. Mobile opt-in data and phone numbers are not shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
Please review our Privacy Policy here.
11. Accessibility
We are committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities. If you have difficulty accessing any part of our website or need information in an alternate format, please contact our office using the information below and we will work with you to provide the information or service you need.
12. Limitation of Liability
Our website and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ETLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or reliance on its content. This limitation does not affect any rights you may have under your service agreements with ETLC.
13. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to your use of this website or these Terms will first be addressed through good-faith informal discussion with our office. If a dispute is not resolved informally within 30 days, it will be resolved by binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Polk County, Iowa, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. Disputes under these Terms will be resolved on an individual basis only, and no class, collective, or representative actions are permitted. This section applies only to disputes about this website and these Terms; it does not apply to, and does not modify, any separate clinical service agreements, consents, or policies you sign directly with ETLC regarding your child’s care.
14. Changes to Services or Policies
ETLC reserves the right to make changes to our policies, procedures, and these Terms at any time. Clients will be notified of material changes. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict of law principles.
